Patient Care Services Our radiology team includes renowned specialists in every area of diagnostic and therapeutic imaging, such as abdominal imaging, breast imaging, interventional neuroradiology, interventional and vascular radiology, musculoskeletal radiology, neuroradiology, pediatric radiology, thoracic imaging and ultrasound. X- Ray with Special Investigations Almost all special x-ray investigations are done in the centre such as:
A barium swallow is a special type of X-ray test which helps the doctor take a close picture of the pharynx, and the tube that extends from the back of the tongue down to the stomach, known as the esophagus.
A barium meal assesses your oesophagus, stomach and just the first part of your bowel. These are the main tests covered here. A barium follow-through is a similar test which assesses your small bowel.
Single contrast barium enema is a method of imaging the colon with fluoroscopy and is similar in concept to the double contrast barium enema. “Single contrast” refers to imaging with barium or water-soluble contrast only, without addition of air or CO2.
Single contrast barium enema is not suitable in these situations because it is less sensitive at detecting small polyps and early changes of inflammatory bowel disease. The ‘double contrast’ refers to the use of positive and negative contrast agents to increase the sensitivity of the examination.
The oral cholecystogram, or OCG, is a radiologic procedure for diagnosing gallstones. An oral cholecystogram is in contrast to an intravenous cholangiogram (IVC). The oral cholecystogram is rarely used, as ultrasound or CT are more accurate, faster techniques for identifying gallstones without exposure to iodine.
Radiographic contrast (dye) is injected into the uterine cavity through the vagina and cervix. It looks at the inside of the uterus and fallopian tubes and the area around them. It is often done in women who are infertile and having difficulty in getting pregnant.
CT Scan: CT imaging is one of the best and fastest tools for studying the chest, abdomen and pelvis because it provides detailed, cross-sectional views of all types of tissue.
is a medical imaging technique used in radiology to visualize detailed internal structures. MRI makes use of the property of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) to image nuclei of atoms inside the body.
